Harpsichordist for Cavalli’s L’Egisto 2017


A native of London, Ontario, Brenda Joyce started piano lessons in the Suzuki Method at the age of six. She obtained a Bachelor of Music Theory and Composition at the University of Toronto and her Master’s in Collaborative Piano Performance from Western University in London, Ontario, where she became a high-demand accompanist and coach for several studios at Western University. She has studied with Ronald Turini and Jane Hayes and recently completed an Opera workshop with repetiteurs Kathryn Tremills and Martin Katz. Her wide variety of experience includes piano teaching, music coaching, ballet pianist, music director, harpsichordist, session musician, Broadway pit musician and choral accompanist. Brenda moved to Halifax in August 2016 and is now on staff at the Maritime Conservatory of Performing Arts as a ballet pianist, and is also an accompanist for Halifax’s All-City Music Choir, Soundtrax.
