Emma is a Second Year Voice Major at Memorial University in St John’s, Newfoundland. In her
first year she studied under Dr. Jane Libel. She grew up in Truro, NS and competed in the Truro
Music Festival for over a decade. She has represented Truro at the Nova Scotia Provincial Music
Festival for the last 4 years and has won the Junior Musical Theatre category (2015) and the
Junior Voice Category (2017). This year she represented Truro in the Senior Voice category at
Provincials in Wolfville, NS. Before heading to university, Emma has studied under Bette Pring,
Christianne Rushton, and Jennifer Farrell in classical voice. She has also been involved in
musical theatre her whole life; some of her favourite roles include Anne Shirley in Anne of
Green Gables (Cobequid Educational Centre) Judy Bernly in 9 to 5: The Musical (Cobequid
Educational Centre) and covering the role of Monica in The Medium (MUN Opera Workshop).
She also was involved in Spotlight Musical Theatre camp in Truro for 6 years and was a lead role
in the original productions of Superhero Academy, Who We Are and A Zombie Summer. In July
of 2016, Emma spent 2 weeks of her summer participating in a musical theatre camp in
Stratford, Ontario. When Emma is not singing she enjoys baking and staying active. She loves
yoga, workout classes running and volleyball. . Emma also enjoys reading and spending time at
her cottage in Little Dyke, NS. She is thrilled to be a part of HOF for the first time and would like
to thank her family and mentors who have supported her throughout her musical journey. She
encourages anyone with a passion for music to pursue your dreams and keep working hard.
