Heather McConnell (Donna Anna) is a dynamic, young American soprano who is thrilled to make her Canadian debut with the Halifax Summer Opera Festival! Ms. McConnell is currently pursuing her Master of Music in Voice Performance at Temple University, having recently received her Bachelor of Music, summa cum laude from Gettysburg College. Ms. McConnell’s latest opera credits include Così fan tutte (Fiordiligi), Dido and Aeneas (Dido), and The Pirates of Penzance (Mabel), as well as scenes from Susannah (Susannah), Die Zauberflöte (Pamina), and The Merry Wives of Windsor (Alice Ford). A versatile performer, Ms. McConnell has also appeared in a wide variety of theatre, including How to Succeed… (Miss Jones), Into the Woods (Cinderella), In the Next Room… (Catherine Givings), and The Scarlet Pimpernel (Marguerite). Ms. McConnell has received awards from the Allegheny Mountain Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, the Presser Foundation, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, Sunderman Conservatory, and the Chester County Choral Society.
