Soprano Sage Pope is thrilled to be making her Halifax debut as the scheming, lovesick Drusilla.  A Chicago native, she is a rising senior undergraduate at Vanderbilt University’s Blair School of Music in Nashville, TN where she studies with Dr. Gayle Shay.  Most recently, she played Barbarina in Vanderbilt Opera Theatre’s production of Le Nozze di Figaro.

Sage has held leading and supporting roles in numerous performances, including Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, Mark Adamo’s Little Women, and Bernstein’s Mass.  She has also worked with prominent opera companies from an arts administration side, including with the Chicago Voices educational outreach program of the Lyric Opera of Chicago.  When not singing, Sage is pursuing a double major in Medicine, Health, and Society and hopes to one day be able to answer people when they ask how she’s going to merge her two degrees.
