HSOW awarded grant by Nova Scotia Department of Communities, Culture and Heritage

The Halifax Summer Opera Workshop would like to thank the Nova Scotia Department of Communities, Culture and Heritage for once again supporting the program with a Cultural Activities Grant.  Our Chair just received the letter of approval this morning from  Minister David A. Wilson and she passed the word on to me.

The Government of Nova Scotia has generously supported HSOW ever since its inception in 2005, and I can truly say that we could not have come this far without this ongoing investment from the Province.

Because of the support of Nova Scotia’s taxpayers, we have been able to offer complete roles to many Nova Scotia singers and musicians as well as work experience for theatre technicians and creative workers.  We’ve also presented performances of important cultural works to Halifax audiences and added to the cultural diversity of the city for both residents and visitors in the busy summer months.

On behalf of the creative teams and participants, thanks again to the Province of Nova Scotia for this support!

Nina Scott-Stoddart

General Director, HSOW
