Free Opera Recital Series at Halifax Central Library
Two hundred years of opera in Italian: 1719 to 1918

An entertaining and informal free lecture recital series focusing on the three works being performed this season by the Halifax Summer Opera Festival. Artistic Director Nina Scott-Stoddart gives musical, historical and dramatic context for our three main stage shows, illustrating the development of opera in Italian over 200 years from 1719 to 1916. Each talk focuses on one area, illustrated with slides and musical examples performed live by the young singers in town for HSOF. Each talk starts at noon and runs 45 minutes.
