HOW TO DONATE
- Use your credit card by clicking the button below and going to our Square site. We’ll send your tax receipt to your email address.
2. Send us an e-transfer — the quickest way to contribute is to send us an e-transfer to payments@halifaxsummeroperafestival.com, which will be auto deposited in our Society account. Please add a note in the “note” area with your name and the email address we should send the tax receipt to.
3. Old school — send us a cheque! Make it payable to Halifax Summer Opera Festival and mail it to PO Box 1819, Lunenburg, NS, B0J 2C0 along with your name and email address and we will send your receipt.
4. Donate through CanadaHelps. CanadaHelps accepts all credit cards as well as PayPal, ApplePay and Google Pay. Tax receipts are issued directly by Canada Helps and the organization will keep the processing fee.
The Halifax Summer Opera Festival Association works in two principal areas:
1. Education
2. Cultural
We are an educational charity, operated to instruct people of all ages (but particularly young adults) in the area of performing arts, specifically opera and musical theatre. Our goal is to make this kind of education more accessible for more people, and the principal way we do this is by providing as many scholarships to our participants as we can.
We are also a producer of high quality opera and musical theatre performances in Halifax, Nova Scotia. We contribute to the diversity of this great city and our productions tend to be more young in feel, more edgy than many more traditional approaches. You can help us maintain opera in Halifax with your gift.
Administration at HSOFA takes up a very small percentage of our operating budget. Your donation will go directly to the productions themselves (to the people we hired, to the theatres we book) or directly to the benefit of the young people who study here.
Every year HSOF gives thousands of dollars in scholarships to deserving and talented young singers while producing over a dozen concerts in Halifax. You can support HSOF’s work by donating to our Scholarship or General Funds. All donations of $20 or more will receive a tax receipt.
