Over the next few days the singers and creative teams for the 9th annual Halifax Summer Opera Workshop and Festival will be converging on the East Coast city of Halifax in preparation for over 15 performances over the next four weeks.
In addition to our three main shows, The Marriage of Figaro (with orchestra), Les dialogues des carmelites and Sondheim’s A Little Night Music, we’re presenting an opera cocktail party fundraiser on July 27, an opera pops concert, A Night at the Opera, on August 3, and a concert saluting Mario Lanza on August 7.
We’re thrilled to welcome back so many great young artists from past seasons,: in the photo from last year’s Carmen, for example, you can see Lauren Jacob and Jonathan Bédard (who are singing Cherubino and Count Almaviva, respectively, in The Marriage of Figaro) and Scott Rumble who will sing Henrik in A Little Night Music!
We’re so excited to begin! For information about tickets to any of our shows, please visit our Upcoming Performances page!
