Thanks so much for applying for the 2020 Halifax Summer Opera Festival. We’ll be sending an email to you to confirm this application and to give you the next steps in the process, whether you wish to audition in person, digitally or by mail. If you don’t receive this email at the above address, that usually means your PayPal payment didn’t go through.
You can now take the next step to ensure that Nina, our Artistic Director, hears you!
1. If you’re auditioning by distance or in person in Toronto or Montreal, you can schedule your audition right now. If you want to audition in London or Halifax, I will contact you once the audition places and times have been confirmed for those cities. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. We ask you to prepare three contrasting pieces and to arrange for your own accompanist.

Toronto: Saturday November 2 and Sunday November 10: Edward Johnson Building, U of T, Room 109
London: we’re working on Monday or Tuesday November 4 or 5 — I’m just waiting to hear what our time slot is!
Montreal: Monday November 11 McGill Music, Room E-109, 5:00 to 8:00 pm
Montreal: Tuesday November 12, McGill Music Room C-411, 4:00 to 8:00 pm

2. If you’re sending us your files digitally, we have a form that you can use to upload your files. Go to http://halifaxsummeroperafestival.com/?page_id=1084 , enter the password “operageek”, fill in the form and attach your files. You can also list links to other content on the internet, such as websites and YouTube videos here.

NOTE: If you wish to apply for Financial Aid you must do it at the time of applying to the program. We run out of bursary money pretty quckly, but we do want to try to help everyone who really needs it. Because we have limited money in the fund, Financial Aid requests may limit the offers we can make to you. Here’s the Financial Aid application form.
