Spring into Opera! A fundraiser for Halifax Summer Opera Festival

Join us for a gala evening of entertainment, a silent auction and great nibbles as we raise money for scholarships for this year’s Halifax Summer Opera Festival Association!

“Spring into Opera” will be held at a lovely private home in Halifax. Tickets are $50.00 per person. Picture yourself sipping wine and nibbling on delectable morsels, all the while surrounded by glorious operatic music featuring young, fresh voices accompanied by Lynette Wahlstrom on the baby grand. A silent auction will complete the evening which starts at 7:00 pm.

As a music lover you are probably aware of the Halifax Summer Opera Festival which is moving from success to success. We are gearing up for our 11th summer season, which will feature productions of Massenet’s Cendrillon, Floyd’s Susannah and Kurt Weill’s Street Scene.

Regular tickets to this event are $50, but if you’d like to help more, and wish to be listed in our programme as a supporter, we can purchase a special patron’s ticket for $100 which will also include your membership in the Association.

Thank you for a great audition season!

Our audition tour is officially over, we’ve heard hundreds of wonderful singers and we’re just about to start making offers.

David Mosey and I would like to thank everyone who auditioned for HSOF over the last few weeks! We’ve heard the highest calibre of singers ever which makes our decisions all the harder. We’re currently reviewing the distance applications and then we’ll be calling the first round of offers within the next two days.

There is still time to get your application in, especially if you’re a mezzo or a man  🙂 We will be accepting applications until all the roles are filled.

Application form now live for Halifax Summer Opera Festival 2015

You may now apply for the 2015 Halifax Summer Opera Festival and Workshop, which will take place from July 18 to August 18, 2015 in Nova Scotia, Canada.

The workshop is open to all singers and performers, with no age limits or residence requirements.
